Web Stuff For review

You Can get to my site by going here

here are some comps and detail of what I have so far. I'm a little behind for the reasons that i'm not going to complain about, I enjoy helping my fellow students out as much as i can, and I'm really trying to push my knowledge and learn as much about CSS and DHTML as possible on this project. I have no doubt that I'll be able to get it done on time though. anywho on to the pics!

revised home page, decided to have the boxes curve under to do something with the dead space.

I'm using a bit of DHTL and Java scripting to allow for a rollover image that uses a .png file that has a trasparency so that it is directly over the link, it also follows the mouse.

Cleaned up the Implementation page with the use of the proper font. the font body text will be changing to black text which can be seen on the website itself.

Like with the roll overs above using Java and DHTML I am able to launch a pop up window inside the browser instead of the normal annoying popup windows that just launch another browser window.

Hopefully I will have my article pages done before the end of the night. WOOO HOOO ALL NIGHTER!!!

This is good. Your click through is actually working. The "more" buttons could relate to the rest of the page and I think you could push you concept of brain storming a little more. Try adding more hand generated elements. I think also categorizing the topics with color coding could help your concept. Are you planning on adding roll overs? I think they would help visitors realize there is more to read with out a blatant "more" button. Maybe just get rid of it. Over all your web is working but the visual comps could be worked on.

dear tim,

i think that your color palette is working for you. Try to expand your palette into your images as well, if this is possible, more so for your article pages. I like the hand generated elements. What is not working for you: The typeface choice for the headings, or maybe it is just because it is so bold. It needs to be more delicate. I think you are making the user work to hard with the amount of clicks that they have to make to get to the information. The grid on the definition page, I don't think is working either, it seems to overwhelm the user. Hierarchy could help to, larger headings possibly.

This launched pop up window needs to match the formal language of the rest of your site. Obviously, the blue bar and red close button don't match.

Tim, thank you for your willingness to help your classmates. Be sure to close your "office hours", however, so you have enough time to concentrate on your own learning. In return for the time you give others, be sure that you get something in return - such as a casual critique of your design comp, or at least a sandwich!
