Final devilerable post!

For some reason when I orinonally posted this the pictures were showing up and then today when i went back to it to look for something, i found none of the pictures were working. they are fixed now, i hope.

Heres how the main page came out.

The step one page uses a simple animation to show the door opening and the driver moving toward the open door, while the passenger notices and raises his hands in suprise.

In step two the animation shows the driver jumping from the car while the passenger waves his hands in fright/exclamation!

Step 3 show the driver flying through the air and tucking his arms and legs.

Step 4 shows the driver again flying through the air tucking and moving toward the ground while the car with unfortunate passenger drives off the cliff. I decided to include the tucking action from the previous step to help with continuity.

In step five the driver lands on the ground, rolls and slides off screen and then returns, jumping for joy that he survived

Final thoughts on Project 2

So this post marks the last post of the "How to jump out of a moving car" Project. I really like where this project ended up going. when i first picked the topic I picked it on the basis that it would be interesting, it would have humor and I could push myself to learn more about flash. It was all that and I also learned not only more about flash, but also some steps about web design organization that will no doubt help me in the future.

Aproching this project I had a bit of trouble getting started. The wire frames I was able to get through with no problem, they made sense and in the end I think my final product follows them pretty well. it was the first and second round of comps that were giving me trouble. this was mostly due to the Migraine that had plaugued me for about a week. After getting that taken care of, things became much easier and I had my firs breakthrough on the design.

taking the concept and boiling it down to its bare basics, taking the car and all the elements to a Icon level of detail, making them out of geomectric shapes similar to the ones that are used on street signs and on caution signs.

along with this I was able to animate all of the steps and tidbits. I decieded to animate them in a way that would not "overpower" the acctual design. I didn' want it to get out of control, so i make them as simple as possible. I think that this helped take some of the more mundane tidbits and adding a bit of life and humor to them.

Overall I'm very happy with the project as I was able to learn, I believe that i have a good design, and I had a bit of fun doing it. I'm also happy for the fact that I was able to help some of my fellow students with their projects.

PROOOOOOOOOGRESSSSS!

While trying to figure out the problem i was having with the navagation being stale (I totally agree it was) I decided to play around with making some Icons for the navagation. just some simple black and white Icons that illustrate the step. I liked them. so I've decided to rework the rest of the look around those. I feel like keeping the site in black and white it caries on the idea that we are taking a complex thing and boiling it down to its easy steps.
